Doctor Strange comes to LFCC
We don’t want this to drag-on any longer as that would be a little strange, so it’s time to admit that the game is finally on at LFCC! We could not be more thrilled to announce that Benedict Cumberbatch will be joining us at London Film and Comic Con in July. As fans worldwide know, Benedict’s career has gone from strength to strength over the past few years and so this is a rare opportunity to meet everyone’s favourite detective/doctor/dragon/whichever other role you love!
Whether it’s in the theatre, on television or on the big screen, Benedict Cumberbatch always delivers a passionate and memorable performance. Theatre roles include appearing in Frankenstein and Hamlet, winning numerous awards along the way and wowing audiences and critics alike. Of course Benedict is probably most recognised for his leading role in BBC’s Sherlock which has grown one of the most passionate and loyal fanbases since its debut in 2010. Since then there has been Parade’s End, The Hollow Crown and even an appearance in The Simpsons! Proving that he is one of the most versatile actors in the industry Benedict even does radio plays including Rumpole, Cabin Pressure and Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere.
Hollywood has been keeping Benedict Cumberbatch busy recently with an appearance as Smaug in The Hobbit and Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness, but it’s his role as Stephen Strange in Marvel’s Doctor Strange that has garnered the most attention. Part Inception, part classic Kung Fu movie, with that unique comic book spin, Doctor Strange is a fascinating and exciting insight into a whole new part of the Marvel cinematic universe and sets the tone for the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok (also featuring Cumberbatch) and Avengers: Infinity War. We cannot wait to see what Strange brings to the table when he interacts with the rest of our favourite comic book heroes!
With such a varied and high quality career under his belt already, your biggest challenge will be deciding exactly what to get signed! We are very lucky to have a guest the calibre of Benedict Cumberbatch joining us at London Film and Comic Con and we cannot wait to hear all about Marvel, Sherlock and beyond.
